The Rigling split ring timber connectors are cast iron rings that are inserted into precut grooves between two timber members. The connection is held together by a bolt. The use of the Rigling split ring eliminates any shear force from the bolt, and provides a much greater shear capacity.
The Rigling split rings have been used in structural timber construction for over 70 years and are characterized by their easy handling. Thanks to the special design, precise installation is possible - in contrast to other dowels - without much effort. The Rigling split rings are suitable for solid wood and glued laminated timber structures.
